  Talk About A Bridge Track!

Chester Harness Harrah's Chester is definitely a unique place, from the front you can't tell its a race track and if your looking for the parking lot forget it there isn't one at least not one you would expect. At Harrah's you park in the garage. Another oddity is that part of the track is built on a bridge I guess if they start to lose money they can put a toll charge on it.

Located not far from the old Brandywine Raceway site Harrah's Chester re-instituted the old tracks signature race The Battle of Brandywine. The track also fills the void left when Liberty Bell closed years ago.

In 2011 the track ran split meets running from March to September and adding a fall meet from October to December.

In 2013, Harrah's Chester now appears to be Harrah's Philadelphia. Must be a Philly thing with name changes? Also the track took over the running of four grand circuit stakes races from Goshen, The E.H. Harriman Cup, The Acorn, The Goshen Cup and The Debutante.

Harrah's Philadelphia has no permanent stables on the grounds, only enough space for race day entries. Another oddity is that because of it's location on the Delaware River, horses can ship in by boat.
