- 06/01/1984 Pick Six wagering introduced. Slow motion video replay installed.
- 06/01/1985 Sunday racing begins at Ak-sar-ben.
- 06/01/1986 Modernization project costing $7.5 million completed. Quick "Official" instituted. Trifecta added to last race.
- 07/15/1986 Cornhusker Stakes run for $250,000 Purse.
- 04/29/1987 Meet extended to 89 racing dates.
- 05/01/1988 Pick three wagering introduced. Interstate simulcasting between Nebraska tracks introduced.
- 05/01/1989 Out of state simulcasting begins with races from The Fairgrounds.
- 07/13/1991 Black Tie Affair wins Cornhusker goes on to win Breeders Cup Classic and is named Horse of the Year.
- 05/01/1992 Track sold to "Douglas Racing Corporation".
- 05/01/1993 Seven furlong chute added to course.
- 08/07/1995 Codys Ninja Star is last horse to get picture taken as Track closes unexpectedly.
