- 08/09/1926 Opens as Lincoln Fields. Thoroughbred Miss Rosedale wins inaugural race.
- 08/30/1936 First photo finish camera installed in Illinois.
- 06/03/1940 Triple crown winner Whirlaway breaks maiden at Lincoln Fields.
- 00/00/1942 The war shuts Lincoln Fields down till 1947.
- 00/00/1943 Licoln Fields dates shifted to Hawthorne Park till 1947.
- 00/00/1948 Lincoln Fields dates shifted again, this time to Washington Park.
- 00/00/1952 Fire destroys grandstand during renovation dates run again at Hawthorne.
- 00/00/1954 Thoroughbreds run at Lincoln Fields for first time since 1942.
- 00/00/1955 Lincoln Fields is bought out renamed Balmoral. Dates moved to Washington Park till "63".
- 00/00/1964 Balmoral dates moved to Arlington Park for six years.
- 00/00/1968 Balmoral converted to harness racing location allows winter racing.
- 00/00/1970 Balmoral thoroughbred dates moved back to Washington Park.
- 00/00/1971 After disappointing meet dates moved back to Arlington Park.
- 00/00/1972 Dates moved once again this time to Sportsman's Park for six years.
- 00/00/1973 Edward DeBartolo purchases Balmoral converts track to 5/8 mile.
- 01/08/1978 Thotoughbreds return after 24 years. Run for seven years.
- 10/01/1986 Due to fire Arlington meet moved to Balmoral. Finally they run for somebody else.
- 00/00/1988 Track is once again expanded this time to one mile outside of 5/8 track.
- 00/00/1991 Balmoral loses thoroughbred date becomes exclusive harness track.
- 00/00/1995 Five-eights track eliminated. Lights installed on mile track.
- 06/01/1995 Full card simulcasting begins at Balmoral.
- 00/00/1999 Balmoral Park becomes premier harness track in Illinois when Sportsman Park closes.
- 12/25/2005 Doc's Deal is last horse to get picture taken at Balmoral.
